WHICH IS CORRECT?
« on: February 19, 2014, 09:26:14 AM »
I would like to share a problem our professor asked in class. He posited the problem to test our understanding of theology and the Bible. Here it goes:

The Bible is the word of God.
The word of God is the Bible.
Which is correct?

Of course, at the end of the class, he gave us the answer. I just thought of sharing it because I believe this will be a good starting point of a healthy and fun discussion. Let's exchange ideas. ;)
Accept Death.
Serve Life.
That's the way of things.
The way of the Force.

I am the Great X!

Amen.

The correct phrase between the two is "The Bible is the word of God."

Agree, the Bible is the Word of God......  Because not every Word of God is in the Bible.   and, Jesus Christ Himself is the Word of God

The correct one is "The Bible is the word of God".

I will agree with the previous answers. The Bible is the Word of God but not all Word of God is in the Bible. First, Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. He is the Word of God personified. Second, as Catholics, Word of God is composed of the Bible, Sacred Tradition, and Magisterium. The complete revelation of God is in these three - without one, you will not get the complete picture.  :)
